Mom and I were discussing that the other day. I was all, "Remember way back when who was it? Val Kilmer played Jim?"

"Yeah."

"He looked a LOT like him, didn't he?"

"Yep. He did."

I didn't watch it last night, though. It's a long, strange, disturbing trip. Kind of like his life.

Ranj often refers to that movie as "Val channelling Jim", and I think he's right. Even the shape of Val's face and body change a little, and not all of it is makeup. Freaky, but brilliant casting.
