Memes and crap

I have a vid idea. Now I just need... um... clips, and know-how, and the appropriate programs.
Also, I didn't sleep last night. At all. Fun times.
Anyway, meme!
Association Meme: Comment to this post with 'comment!' and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
Mine are from
misscam:
Doctor Who
Probably one of my favorite fandoms. Certainly the only one in the top five I've never written and will probably never write fic for. Even Firefly I wrote up some RPG episodes for, but Who... nah. I prefer to enjoy it as it is. I'm not even that fond of Who fic, though there are plenty of exceptions to that rule. :)
Doctor Who (along with Torchwood) is one of the few shows I'm willing to watch over and over and over again, as well. Even the episodes I don't like. Especially if I'm introducing someone to the show; I adore getting people hooked on it.
Staying up late
Appropriate, since I went to bed at 1 am... and then got up at 2... went back to bed at 3... got up at 4. Never actually slept.
I am a night owl. I hate having a day job. My ideal bedtime is somewhere between 1 and 5 in the morning.
Dance
Ah, dance. Love and bane of my life. Three things that make me completely, unadulturatedly happy: rain, cooking, and dancing. I love to move, I love the beat, I lose myself in the music.
On the flip side, dancing is a lot like school for me. I'm just good enough to slide by without really practicing/studying, but I can't seem to make myself actually work, so I sort end up in this frustrated love-to-dance-but-hate-my-dancing space.
NaNo
I'm torn about NaNoWriMo, at this point. I used to think it was awesome, and I still believe it's a good idea. It's definitely not for me, however. I don't write that way. My ideas trickle out in descriptive sentences and random dialogue. I also find the forums to be cliquish and less than helpful.
My break from NaNo was pretty much clinched last year when I tried to explain the reasoning for people thinking it's fine to use previously written stuff as long as you don't add it to your wordcount, and write 50k of new material in November. The responses I got-- to what was a painstakingly civil explanation-- were basically "Neener neener you're a dirty cheater and I've finished NaNo every year since it started so I can say so. Pfffbbbt."
Wasn't too keen on the whole thing, after that. One of my biggest pet peeves is people responding rudely to polite posts or comments (in fact, I ran into that last night on a blog I've been into lately, and stopped reading entirely. I have no time for people who are nasty just for the hell of it.)
Curiosity
Hee, I'm kind of amused by this one. Am I curious? I guess so. Certainly a fair portion of my posts consist of "Somebody explain this to me!"
I am curious, I guess. I get interested in things quite easily, and I'm a natural researcher. I always want to find out more about whatever subject has caught my eye. I'm also flighty, however, and today's obsession is tomorrows vague interest.
So, comment to get associated :D And I'm tossing an addition onto this: if you want to add another association or two to me, I'll respond in the comments.

Date: 2009-02-19 06:20 pm (UTC)For you: The Three Musketeers, snow, and the SCA.
wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey... stuff.
Date: 2009-02-19 10:37 pm (UTC)SCA: I keep going back and forth on SCA. I mean, I was raised in it, everybody I like that I don't know from online is in it, it's fun. I just... don't always get enthused. Oh well.
Snow: DUDE. OMG. Snow. So. WTF. THAT SHIT IS COLD. Pretty, though. Hah, remember that conversation where we were like
You: It rains in the summer! And snows in the winter!
Me: It does not!!! And what is this "snow" you keep talking about?
FOR YOU (five here having the meaning of "six"):
Pirates of the Carribean
Moving
Politics
Bisexuality
Smallville
Pie and Moira
Linear time is linear.
Date: 2009-02-19 10:43 pm (UTC)*nods* I get how that can be.
HAHA so you finally met some?
I so remember that convo. I was on a train. I stumbled across an LJ entry a few days ago that told me what date. I find this somehow hilarious.
Heee! Ok, will try.
Re: Linear time is linear.
Date: 2009-02-20 12:42 am (UTC)COLD SNOW IS COLD. And makes my shoes stick to the ground, unless I want them to stick to the ground, in which case it makes them not stick and I fall on my ass. Otherwise known as Why I Will Not Move To Paradise Even Though It Is Way Prettier Than Oroville.
Re: Linear time is linear.
Date: 2009-02-20 12:44 am (UTC)I am trying not to laugh at you. And failing, a little. <3
Re: Linear time is linear.
Date: 2009-02-20 12:57 am (UTC)AND by the way missy, I did NOT write you/Sam. I wrote you/Will. Along with a bunch of other TWW fics, apparently, that I don't remember writing.
>.> Hmmph. I grew up in the Valley! Average winter temperature: fiftysomething.
Look at that. I'm in the Pit of Voles!
Date: 2009-02-20 01:35 am (UTC)HAHAHAHA that is just unnatural, you know.

Date: 2009-02-19 10:53 pm (UTC)And you? Ghoul love, awesome beta... ;)
(no subject)
Date: 2009-02-20 01:00 am (UTC)Ghouls deserve love because underdogs are hot! In vaguely related news, I have decided to end Trust where it is and make the next bits the first part of the second fic, because I can't seem to write it in the same style as Trust.
Also, NUH-UH, you are. :D
And hmm... things I associate with you:
Gaming
Ghouls
Soccer
Math
Charon

Date: 2009-02-20 01:03 am (UTC)And I'm still looking forward to reading what you've got written, even it it's the first part of the sequel now. :P
NUH-UH. You are way more awesome. :P I think we could go at this all day... hee.

Fruit's Basket (actually I couldn't come up with a fifth-- my no sleep is catching up to me. I just went and looked at your interest list and went "Whee an anime I like!" :p)

That dragon game (that I failed at-- mine all died :( )
