Every username I'd used, until this one, had personal meaning to me. The first especially-- it was who I was. So I changed usernames in '03, moving to this new journal, making a break from who I was. Not that it really worked, but that was the intention.

As to why this particular name, well, I'm a lot like a sparrow... short, fat, cute, and easily startled. Or distracted. I do not, however, hop around looking for breadcrumbs, unless it's been a very long time since I went for groceries.

I'm doing research for a fic in which the main character is pregnant. I'm clicking along a week-by-week chart, trying to figure out how far along she is when she finds out, and wtf. WTF.

Babies are weird, creepy little things for the first couple of weeks. I find this picture particularly disturbing.

I mean, I still want some eventually, right, but WTF I do not need to know what it looks like while it's still inside. That's just skeevy.
