her eyes were her thoughts and they were far away

what is it with old plots coming back to haunt me?

I saw a terrible miniseries about Attila last night that reminded me of my Mongol/Time Travel story that was originally a Hun/Time Travel story, until I realized that Mongols are teh cool. And that Gengis Khan could take Attila down any day.

It's entirely possible that I'm somewhat too much of a history geek.

Also, what's the thing with categorizing writers? It's not enough that people get a bajillion labels stuck on them every day, you get labeled there too.... I really don't understand. I bring this up because I was asked for help on a story yesterday, which was of no interest to me- D&D style fantasy- because I'm the "fantasy geek." I don't know where they got that, really. I read certain sorts of fantasy, yes, and write it...but I read and write scifi, and historical stuff, and intrigue, and a crapload of nonfiction history books, too. So...I dunno. I had a point originally. I guess I just got annoyed at that. Don't know why, really. It just got to me. Maybe 'cause I'm not really in so much of a fantasy mood lately. Ironic, since I'm trying to write fantasy...

(no subject)

Lucius Malfoy(Capt. Jack Sparrow)
---------------------------------- = my ideal outfit.
Sam from Benny & Joon

because I saw Carnivale last night. It was inspiring.

somehow the only character from that show that I'm at all fangirling is Samson. It's kind off odd. usually I fangirl half the people on any given show, but Samson the Snarky is...pretty much it.

I want to wear this for Halloween, and possibly every other day of my life:

Brown corderoy trousers (have)
White mens shirt (have)
Suspenders
Bowler hat
Round wire-rimmed glasses
Long psuedo-Sparrow jacket, dark red corderoy
Walking stick, a la Malfoy the Senior. Pimpstick!

yheah.

I love Hocus Pocus. I hate modern Disney, but that movie just rocked. Go, Thackary! And Billy the Butcher = yay. Also Sarah Jessica Parker has rillyrilly nice legs, and hikes her skirt up often in this film. Eeee. ^.^
