*kills thigh-highs*

Pointless to wear these confounded things, the only end up rolling down to my knees because I'm fat, but we won't go into that. And yet, they looked so good with my skirt. -.-

My still life drawing is fucked up. I finally gave up on getting ANYthing in proportion, and just drew a teensy bit of the setup REALLY BIG and hoped nobody noticed how bad it was. Not hard, since the teacher never comes over to help me out.

Guh.

and why are there so many hot guys in art? It's just not fair. I'm no good at it, so I can't impress anyone, and...um...point, I had a point...

I was feeling really great and jazzed until drawing. Now, I suck, completely. *sigh* Well, that's life, I guess....

am very, very sleepy. and hungry. and damn! I have math homework. Except not really. It's optional for me, 'cause I'm one of two people NOT to completely bomb the last test (I thought I had, but I didn't! Yay!)

I want to curl up with my dog and that box I found full of my dad's old Analog magazines. *squee* Thank goodness he collects such things! Reading material. Yum.

If you ever run across a short story/novella called "Genus Traitor," read it. It's hard scifi (but not so much as to be the granite-jawed hero sort) and really, really fun, in that ironic end of the universe sort of way.

I'm tiredtiredtired....*cries* I want to go to SLEEP!

If I thought I could I'd ditch math class and just go down to the creek and take a nap, but with my luck I'd wake up at five after all the busses have gone. -.-

Oy.

My teacher says, "flesh out a story idea." She says, "see where it's general, and make it specific." Right. Fine. So, do I pick either of my NaNoWriMo possibilities? Do I pick one of the bajillion million gazillion plotbunnies biting my ankles? Or, do I pick an idiotic fantasy story based on a character I made up when I was thirteen. *sigh*

If you asked me about Maek Lejin, off the top of my head I would be able to tell you that he was an intelligent, powerful, snarky, alcoholic, bitter, lechy mage who owns a school (Lumarchia, Lumar: thought, Sachia: bright), lost his One True Love to an enemy mage (dead, he assumes), and had a rather eventful adolescence. He's also been RPed, usually in combination with my self-char, who he pretends to utterly despise but really just wants to violently murder. 'cause he would, if he met me. Or, if he were drunk (as usual) just try to sleep with me. He's like that. Not that bad a guy, though. Just annoying.

Oddly enough I didn't create Maek on his own, he came about because he was the teacher of another (crappy) character/self-insert who has now been modified to be one of the antagonists. Or, well, I guess she's still a protagonist, when she's in the story at all, but you wouldn't want to hang out with her.

...so...

Any story written about Maek would first have to be written about his past, which, despite not having ever written down, I can still remember.

I don't actually have a point to any of this.

No, wait, I do! Read this and tell me what you think, eh? I need to work on the culture and history of the empire more, but...

(transcribed directly from my notebook, don't kill me for bad grammer)

The five sons of a tyrant go to war. The middle son (Jaete), formerly allied with his father, bloodily murders him and his advisors during a war council. The eldest (Shaso) and second-youngest (Holf) ally with an enemy nation. The second-oldest (Dolsi) stays supposedly neutral for a time, before convincing (one might almost say seducing) the youngest boy, Maek Lejin, to aid him in defeating their brothers. Being the youngest, Maek was given more to his mother, and grew up far more scholarly than his brothers, suppressing the violent tendencies inherited from his father.

Dolsi manages, for a time, to persuade Maek that the things they do are for the good of the empire. It isn't until Dolsi captures, tortures, and finally kills their brothers that Maek realizes how dangerous things have gotten, and that the horrible things he has done were for nothing more than Dolsi's power.

Escaping his brother under the pretext of forging a treaty with the swamp Tribes, Maek helps the Tribes and the people under his brother's rule to rebel.

In the final battle, Maek abandons his magic- out of a lingering love for the brother who had formerly been his closest friend- and takes up a sword against Dolsi. Dolsi's greater practice in battle, and his rage against Maek, enable him to win- nearly. He cuts off Maek's hands, so that he cannot use magic, and takes him prisoner. On the way to Dolsi's base (Keep? Town?), one of the Tribe warriors attacks and kills Dolsi, and manages to get Maek to a Tribe mage quickly enough to save his life (blood loss- the hands).

Later, as the corpses are being gathered, Maek has the hands removed from Dolsi's corpse. In a surprising display of non-ritual magic*, he attaches them to his wrists to replace his own lost hands.

*For that world, most known magic can only be accomplished by ritual, the more difficult the task, generally, the more complicated and/or power-draining the ritual. The ability to forgo ritual is rare, and doing so with something like that, which would be extremely advanced healing, is unheard of. It should have killed him. It didn't, though. I haven't worked out why.

...sho.

Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?

Oy.

Yeah, Melody, like I'm not going to snap at you for walking into the room while I'm on the (speaker)phone with my mom and announcing you need to talk to her? Arguing with me only made her day worse, damnit. Of course, so did flat-out refusing to do the dishes, so I ended up having to do them. Way not to piss my dad off, Mel. That'll really just please Mum to bits and pieces.

*sigh*

Now, see, if she was really my sister, I could beat her up. Except not, 'cause I pull my punches but she fights dirty.

Arg.

Headache.

*cries*
